Cold self-adhesive bitumen membranes are used to waterproof ground-contacting basement walls and floor slabs against soil moisture and non-blocking seepage water, and meet the requirements for the standard-compliant waterproofing of buildings according to DIN 18533 for water exposure class W 1.1-E (soil moisture and water not under pressure) and W 1.2-E. (water not under pressure, for walls in contact with the ground and floor slabs for poorly drained soil with drainage).
The waterproofing membrane also has a sealing function against moisture rising by capillary action, and as a vapor barrier under screeds.
